Mike Gioscia
Eighties, Standards, Soul, Rock, R&B
Mike Gioscia first started spinning records in 1982 at his college radio station WFCS in New Britain, CT. It wasn’t long after that he started to DJ professionally.
Known mostly for his years as Production Director/Voice of Boston’s 101.7 WFNX rock radio station, Mike has DJ’d private functions, parties, weddings, and corporate events for years. Drawing from decades of experience, and a vast musical knowledge and collection, Mike is comfortable playing all types of music. “The DJ’s job is to play the appropriate mix for the crowd he’s hired to entertain, not to get stuck in any one genre” Mike says.
Mike is also known in Boston as a club DJ, having spun music for years in the Lansdowne Street nightclubs Axis and Avalon (adjacent to Fenway Park), playing for thousands of people every week. He also has hosted many Holiday Parties and Corporate events at the Jillians/Lucky Strike Entertainment Complex.
An announcer/MC needs to not only be heard, but understood in a large event atmosphere. As a radio host and voice of hundreds of radio and TV commercials, Mike is very clear and confident on the microphone, but isn’t interested in dominating your event with too much chatter (unless instructed to do so).
As a radio producer, Mike works well with event coordinators, brides, corporate executives, caterers, photographers and other staff, making sure your event runs smoothly.
Whether you are hosting an event that requires a background playlist to create ambiance or are in need of a DJ/MC to keep your party dancing all night long, Mike Gioscia is a perfect choice.
Mike is currently on the air staff at WZLX ‘Classic Rock’ in Boston, Voice of WXRV ‘The River’ in Boston, and DJ/Host of “Americanarama” Mon-Thurs 10p-1a on 95.9 WATD in Boston.
